It’s that time of the year again, daylight savings time (DST). It’s time for most Americans to sacrifice an hour of sleep tonight in exchange for for an extra hour of sunshine each night through the summer.
DST is a worthy investment in my mind, until the time comes to “fall back” to standard time on November 7th which I’m not so big on. Until then, time to enjoy more daylight and seemingly longer days. So get to bed early or catch a nap tomorrow to make up for that lost hour, then get out and enjoy the longer evenings while you got ‘em.
The official time to “spring forward” is 2 a.m. Sunday (local time), but it’s a common practice to adjust your clocks Saturday night, especially important if you have early Sunday morning plans.
DST is observed in most of America, but there are some exceptions. If you’re not sure, you can check here to find more information from the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST).
